Jonathan A. Perez, Esq. fights to ensure justice and due process for all persons accused of wrongdoing. As a private criminal defense attorney, Mr. Perez has experience handling high-profile cases at both the state and federal levels. 

Mr. Perez’ dedication to fighting tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for every one of his clients sets him apart from other attorneys. As an aggressive trial attorney, Mr. Perez does not hesitate to present a case to a jury when he believes it is in his client’s best interest.

Prior to joining Lebedin Kofman LLC, Mr. Perez served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. While serving as a prosecutor, Mr. Perez was assigned to the Special Victims Bureau, where he prosecuted and investigated hundreds of sexually based offenses and crimes against children. Mr. Perez’s experience as an Assistant District Attorney provides him with a first-hand perspective of how prosecutors develop their cases, which is essential to building a strong defense. 

Mr. Perez received his Juris Doctorate from American University Law School and Brooklyn Law School, where he was a member of the moot court honor society’s trial team. Mr. Perez received his B.A. at Bowdoin College and an M.A. from the University of Virginia. He is also a published academic in the field of criminal rights, constitutional law, and social-political theory. 

Mr. Perez was born and raised in New York City, where is actively involved in his community. He is a member of the New York City Bar, the Mass Incarceration Task Force, and the Columbian Lawyers Association. 

Mr. Perez is admitted to state practice in New York and federally in the Southern, and Eastern Districts.
